These sports league exclusive deals are padding the fat cat's wallets and screwing the gamer. If we could take 2K Sports' gameplay and add EA's "polish" and "shine" we'd have the perfect sports games. I have fortunately not had the freezing issue that many people have had. Shame on 2K Sports Quality Control for missing this one, but as a 2K Sports fan I'm not surprised - they are notorious for great playing games with glaring bugs or oversights.
The game plays pretty well. The pitching and hitting took a little getting used to, but they are pretty cool. Batting is done with the right analog stick and is both fun and realistic. The graphics are another Xbox 1.5 title. Players faces are horrible, hardly look anything like the guys. I actually bought this game, the game plays well and i'm looking forward to online league play.
There are some really nice touches - crowds (they still look awful) actually "go for" foul balls, there are hecklers in the stand "Hey A-Rod, why don't you buy the Yanks some pitching??" "Giambi's a whiffer". The commentary is a mixed bag too - it's Joe Morgan and Jon Miller. When they are "on" it's awesome, like watching a game. Other times they have no idea where they are, and say stupid stuff. Very TV like presentation, 2K Sports did a decent job with the stats overlays and transition screens.
