The 2K sports team has been developing the only multi-console baseball sim for the last few years. 2K11 is the latest installment in the series of baseball simulators, allowing players to step into the shoes of their favorite MLB team.
Quick Game: Pick two teams and play a quick game of baseball.
My Player: Create a custom baseball player and play through his career, taking him from the minors into the majors.
Franchise: Pick a team and play through their entire season.
Online League: Play either quick games or Franchise online against other people.
Home Run Derby: Hit a bunch of home runs, y'all.
Postseason: Just want to be in the playoffs and World Series? You can do that, too.
What is the Dynamic Player Rating System?
MLB 2K11 features a new system that adjusts player's stats based on their performance in the season. So if you are playing Franchise mode, and your players are on a hot or cold streak, their various stats (like bat contact or hitting power) will be adjusted to show their increase or decrease in performance.
DPR also factors into the game's MLB Today feature, which analyzes the current baseball season, and updates stats and rating for the players based on their real life performance. So if, say, the Padres surprise everyone again and have a great first half of the season, their skills will start to reflect that. Likewise when they inevitably choke in the second half, the stats will be adjusted accordingly.
Are All My Favorite Players/Stadiums In Here?
Theoretically yes. All 30 Major League teams are in there. We've also confirmed that the game features minor league teams, at least both the AAA and AA levels (for an additional 60 teams). Every stadium has also been rendered accurately.
Who's on the Cover?
None other than 2010 Cy Young Award winner, Roy Halladay, pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies.
