This game has been prasied as one of the best JRPGS to come out on this generation of consoles. Well thats not really true, while it does prove to be a very solid and decent game ive played alot better.
The story is fairly uninspired, everything you see here has been done alot better time and time again but its got a few differences from the norm to keep it from being TOO bad. Just about all of the conversations between characters are presented in the form a conversation box on the bottom of the screen and 2 characters book-end it in a fully 3D model while they talk. Each character has about 2 motions they will do over and over while talking and this gets pretty old after a while. This particular style really takes you out of the story and makes it almost impossible to feel connected with the characters and whats going on.
The battle system is the ONLY unique and original thing in this game. Without going into detail imma just say that its a button masher that restricts how many buttons you can mash by giving each character a stamina bar and when it fills up you overheat and just kinda stand there gettin beat on. BUT if you pull off a certain type of attack while in overheat mode you can switch to another character and do the smae thing and then both characters will be returned to normal stamina. Well...this starts off ungodly slow but then gets really fun when you get a proper party, but then it fizzles out again and gets really redundant.
Overall Magna Carta 2 is nothing more than mediocre in all aspects but worth playing if you've exhausted the rest of your JRPG library.

If you are an avid fan of Rpg's this game is definately worth a look at. Its got some MMOrpg aspects to it (doing quests here and there, guess that's 100 different quests in the game). Has a skill branch just like Diablo/Too Human games like that, im only about 5 hours in and im loving it so far. The graphics are really well done, and the voice acting is good also. I never played the first Magna Carta, but im sure glad i got this game well worth a look if you enjoy leveling/questing. My only complaint is it seems to be alittle bit to easy, i haven't really found anything to challenging but im also currently only on the 2nd boss.
