I have read a lot of reviews toward this game, and I have to say most of them are pretty accurate. Some flaws in gameplay, and not having franchise hurts this game.
I do enjoy, however, the connected careers mode. It's a new way to spice things up, and getting rid of the repetitive game mode for more than 4 years. In fact, it hasn't been great since 07' in my opinion. The gameplay of it isn't great, but still solid enough for me not to flip out over something stupid. The presentation and graphics were amazing and beautiful, even a step up from 11'.
Even though, I give this game an 8/10, I'm not buying it until it hits $20. I can wait though, I don't agree wasting 60$ a year on this Madden, but I will still buy this game. It's very good, and there's something about it that keeps me playing, even after winning 2 Super Bowls.
ok so I know coming into this review people already hate the game, but I'll try to make this as unbiased as possible. This years installment of madden is "in my opinion" the best madden installment released to date for the 360/PS3 era. The reason being is because, when it comes down to it, this is a football game.
The good: The best point of the game is the presentation of the game. The way the game's audio and visuals have been upgraded are a good enough for most football fans to appreciate, and even leave the "2K critics" saying "well thats new." Primetime games (Sunday/monday night football) is connected careers mode is kicked off with a nice little intro showing 2 playmaking weapons from both teams. The scenes then take you to the booth with Sims and Nantz (if I remember his name correctly) to take about the game before heading to kickoff.
The bad: Commentary is trash, to say the least. The new commentary has absolutely no sense of personality, meaning that sims and Nantz talk as nonchalant or boring as ever, plus it feels like they have even less lines as you will notice by as soon as the 2nd game they will be saying the same things.
The ugly: Connect Careers. This mode isn't bad per say, but the new mode can easily feel like its just that, NEW. Upon reading many negative reviews I've noticed that many have complaints toward Madden for not having a franchise mode, So I will be the first to state that I have realized the lack of intelligence towards those who play this as if they had the slightest hint of common sense they would have realized that franchise mode is in Connected Careers, called Coaching mode. Overall Connected Careers mode is a good first step to those who've played the mode as both a coach and a player, as it eliminates the lack of production for superstar mode, plus it makes online franchise mode identical to the offline, and even adds online superstar.
Overall: 8/10, this is an addition of madden I can easily say I do enjoy playin
