People need to stop giving this madden such a bad rep. Yes, there is more to improve on but after 4 years, they finally made changes.
Franchise mode is gone yes, but CC is implemented to replace it. You can choose to be a player or a coach, if you choose a player, youre playing superstar mode, and if you want to play right away, you have the option. If you do not choose to start, you can work your way through the depth chart like a real nfl player would.
If you want to control all aspects of the game, you can choose to be a coach. You will control both sides of the ball and play a full game like franchise from previous years. The new rpg based system adds a new depth to the game and takes away form the monotony of previous games.
Some features have been removed from the mode such as editing players and playing the pro bowl, but the overall experience has been enhanced with features like practices before games, and finally all of the great franchise features like the enhanced preseason and offseason are available ONLINE, something madden has not done yet. WARNING: CC is a one player per console deal, you can not control more than one team or player on one console.
And to address one point people have made, fantasy draft IS in CC now as a patch, although imports from NCAA have been removed.
The physics engine is also a great improvement that people need to stop bashing. The old tackle animations that SUCKED have been replaced by a more realistic flow of real physics. Although the engine is not always perfect and sometimes super sensitive to contact, anyone who enjoys physical football will know that this is a HUGE upgrade.
I understand frustrations that football fans have with madden, but they are finally going in the right direction, I did rate this higher than I probably should, it is really to me 8/10, but I needed to point out that many people posting these low ratings are dead wrong and have not given Madden 13 a fair chance
