Madagascar Kartz is pretty much what you would expect it to be, a Madagascar version of Mario Kart, but thats not neccisarily a bad thing. It takes all of the little things that made that frachise so popular and put the Madagascar twist on them.
The voice acting is pretty good even though it can get repetative and the Movie actors voices aren't used.
The Graphics are done surprising well considering this isn't a major game.
This game can get addictive, a friend of mine and I played for hours and did not grow tired as the game gets more challenging as you progess through the ranks of Kart speeds from 50cc all the way up to 200cc .
The charactors from the movies are all there from Alex the Lion to the crazy Penguins, along with Unlockable charaters from DreamWorks other big movies Shrek and Monster v.s. Aliens
Easy Achievments, after only an hour or so I was already at almost 300 points. Big bonus for Achiement hounds.
Kind of a short game over all but a decent replay value could help that along due to becoming addictive.
As I said earlier, the voice acting can get a bit old after hearing the same line over and over, but if you're like me, you can just turn on the radio and turn down the tv volume.
A limited number of tracks does kinda suck, they try to make up for it by running the tracks in reverse as well but it could have benifeted from a wider varity.
Overall this is a Fun, silly game and should be taken as such. Fans of the Mario Kart type racers and the Madagascar movies should definatly give this game a rent.
I got this rental to play with my 5 year old. With 360 there are so few games that parent and child can play together, but thought I would give this one a shot. It's too hard for kids and can be quite frustrating for them as they will repeatedly come in last place due to the overly aggressive AI drivers. Visually, the tracks are fun so we got about 2 hours of enjoyment out of this before he was bored.
Take a pass on this one if you are looking for bonding time with your kids 5 or below.
My 5 & 7 year old boys really enjoyed this game from the moment it came through the door! They really enjoyed the excitement of being all the famous characters they have watched and enjoyed!! They played enthusiastically and "mastered" all the levels with ease! Easy to play and does create fun challenges along the way!
