Officially licensed by Major League Baseball, MLB Slugfest features an exaggerated approach to baseball that emphasizes arcade action over simulation. In the vein of NFL Blitz and NHL Hitz, Midway offers beefed-up players and over-the-top baseball action. Players on a hot streak will literally burst into flames, and you can intentionally hit a batter to affect his performance -- but go too far, and he'll rush the mound. Bench clear! Also included are several modes of play and an assortment of real athletes, teams, and stadiums, along with wacky variations like a Roman coliseum and a pirate ship.
