This game is great. Don't let the cute graphics fool you in to thinking otherwise. You won't even notice the fact that the characters have no arms and legs (just floating feet and hands). The presentation of this game is done so well, right down to Joe Mauers side burns. This game has almost everything I looks for in a console baseball game. The main this this game has that is something has been lacking from console baseball games in the last few years is a huge dose of fun. If you like stats, managing rosters, just playing a whole season as your favorite team, this game has it and much more.
The game play is easy to get into, and the controls are intuitive unlike some baseball games that will remain unmentioned. There are no goofy Wii remote motions required to throw the baseball. In fact there are no motions required at all, so the fact that the game doesn't take advantage of the motion sensing may turn some people off to the game.
While Season Mode is great, one part of the game I found useless was the Success Mode. I played through three years of this mode, and I have to say "I don't get it!" There is very little if any baseball played in this mode, instead its more of a life simulation where you try to balance your work, school, and social life while trying to train for baseball games you never really play. When you do play it is only to take at bats, otherwise you watch the box score unfold. I might be missing something here but after 2 hours and finally being picked up as a AAA player I quit. I can only take so much odd character dialog that reads like it was probably translated from Japanese to English. I might try again later.
If you like baseball, I highly recommend this game. In my opinion, it is the best baseball game for the Wii right now.
