MLB 08: The Show for PlayStation 3 Reviews by Gamers

MLB: The show 08 is by far the best baseball game I've ever played.

I've always been a fan of the baseball games in the sports genre but hadn't found one I truly enjoyed as much as The Show since Ken Griffey Jr's winning run.

The graphics are beautiful, the animations, games, balance, it's all there. In addition the Road to the Show mode is the most fun I've ever had in a baseball game before. Having the ability to create yourself and then take yourself through your rookie spring training and then work your way up through the minors (unless you're amazingly good in spring training) to get your first big start in the big leagues is one of the best experiences I've had in a video game in awhile.

I did play The Show 07 as well and I have to say they definitely made some improvements:

Goals are now a bit more forgiving. If you don't do exactly what they wanted you to do but it ends up positive you'll still get a positive rating and points along with that. No more will you be told to knock in the run, get the hit, but have the AI stop at 3rd instead of going home and losing points. Now you'll just get a positive rating, which is less points than a success, but you'll still get points and an OK rating.

If you ever liked a baseball game in your life...even just a little bit...You gotta play this game! This is by far the most fun sports game I played in a while! Compared to 2k's game, this blows it out of the water...2k's "game" is probably the worst game I played in a while, graphics, hitches in frame rate, pitching...probably the stupidest thing I've seen in a game. It's like NHL 2k but with baseball...You would think with sega having the license for MLB it would be better but they probably spent more $ on that than it took to develop the game...Anyways RENT THIS GAME or even BUY IT!!! Great online play and long lasting appeal, ow yea, the Graphics are unbelievable too!!!
