If your looking for a game where you can hammer HRs every at bat, then don't rent this game. But if you want an in-depth, build your career from nothing to Hall of Fame, then get this game. You only control your player, not the entire team as most sport games. You earn points for doing good things and achieving goals in game-and lose points for bad things. Graphics and game play can be glitchy. But overall a very good game. I gave this game a 9 and not a 10 because some of it just doesn't seem real. I got Rookie of the Year, NL Playoff MVP and WS MVP in my rookie season. Contract renewal was 500K for 2 years at AAA level. That is not realistic. Also outfielders have gone thru the wall to catch HR's. I hit 3 inside the park HRs in a season because the opposing fielders move to slow or run with the ball then throw.
Graphics 10
Gameplay 9
Realism 8
Playability 10
I didn't rate the music because it is typically not the kind of music I listen to. Also there is a song in there that refers to Nazism (Blitzkrieg Pop)
I do like that they did not support Barry Bonds, his name is gone, so is his HR record(although it does say his team) and I know it also has to do with the fact he thinks he is too good for the MLBPA and paid to have his name removed from the roles.
Rent or buy the game, you really can't go wrong.
