The description was intriguing so I added it to my queue. Unfortunately, I couldn't stand it when it started. Confusing cut scene after confusing cut scene, with no actual game.

I'm a fan of visual novels on the PC but this was horrid. The voice acting was bad and it commonly did not match the text - in fact it almost never did.

There was no explanation of who you were, no set up for the action, and no explanation of why what you're doing is even important. Perhaps it was revealed after a much longer play than I gave the game, but I don't keep hammering nails into my leg hoping one of them will eventually feel good. I felt like I was trapped in someone's very bad fanfic.

I wouldn't even suggest giving it a go. Get World Ends With You if you really need a quirky anime-styled DS game. You'll thank yourself.

This could've been a decent game if not for the ATROCIOUS localization. There are two major problems with it.

1) You're forced to listen to the english dub. Be prepared to cringe often because nearly every line in the game is voiced.

2) The spoken dialogue doesn't match the text on-screen. EVER. I've never seen anything like this in a videogame--maybe on a DVD, but never a videogame.

I don't know who to blame--Ignition or Nintendo--but let me just say most people who are interested in these sorts of quirky Japanese titles do NOT appreciate being forced to listen to an english dub, especially when it doesn't even match the on-screen text.

That being said, feel free to rent the game if you think you can overlook the localization issue. As someone who (somewhat) understands and appreciates the Japanese language, and HATES dubs no matter what the language, I personally could not.

The game has many typos, the voice acting is low, and sometime the text can move very slow. At some point in the game it would confuse me a little when they called a female character a "he" or "him". Other than that the story was great and intense I do recommend this to anime fans who want a short interesting simple and easy game. The artwork is fantastic! The Music was great and intense! And despite the negatives it was worth playing and kept me entertained.
