A good game to play if you ever played PC novels

If you ever played Visual Novels before then you will most likely like Luminous Arc series. Luminous Arc 2 is a spin off of Luminous Arc (to my knowledge I do not know if they did release it for the US on the DS)

The game is basically adding Prism Arc (Japanese PC visual novel game) + Final Fantasy Tactics all into one. The game goes through as you take command of Roland(the main hero of this harem game) as a knight in training who basically is granted the powers of the rune engine a mysterious device that unlocks magical powers. In that same time a young witch-in-training Athena is being chased by monsters and runs into him and his friends. After the first fight you escort her to the castle where your asked to go with her back to the Magic Academy. From there your get pulled into the story as not as everything you see is true as there are many intrigues.

Now some of you are asking what is Prism Arc well there are two versions of that game and all I can say is Wiki it if your curious. The reason I say it is because this game acts more like a visual novel where you only have 2 romantic interests. Fatima and Athena The choices you make in pre-battle will give you a certain ending. There is much you can do with this game if you have the patience to play it. This game is not for everyone but if you like a challenge, a fan of visual novels, or like RPG's in general this one is a must pick up to play or even buy.

I bought this game not knowing anything about it. And I am glad I did. I think any RPG fan will enjoy this game. You have to make sure you level, and not rush through it tho. Great story and just an all around great rent!

This game must set some sort of record for the wordiest cutscenes of any DS game. I started getting carpal tunnel syndrome just from moving from one talk balloon to the next. It'd be one thing if it was an interesting story with decent dialogue (in which case I would have bought the 850-page novel version and saved myself the thumb wear), but it was just cheesy stock drivel with cookie-cutter characters that I couldn't bring myself to care about. Keep in mind I somehow made it all the way through Final Fantasy X, so my bar is pretty low for JRPGs.

After 30 minutes of mind-numbing prattle it finally let me play for 5 minutes. Imagine my disappointment when it was just a FF Tactics clone - not even Advance or A2, the old Playstation version - that didn't bring any real innovation to the table. I wanted those 35 minutes of my life back.

Every time I get a deuce bomb like this in the mail, I always thank <your favorite deity here> for GameFly for saving me time and money.
