Don't waste your time renting this one! You have to endure the "story line" before playing the game and it's a bad one, even according to my 6 year old!

The character is lame and doesn't move around very well, making wierd sound effects.

Spend your time on others. . .

Really Bad

A Complete Let Down

The first scenes the player will be treated to are blocky, undetailed, and poorly textured. The audio will come in soon after, confusing the player as the voice actor only says a part of his or her written line.
The story will kick in soon after, which is like every other game. I have no complaints about this storyline, it's simple but intriguing to some degree.
As soon as you get control of the protagonist Aidan you will realise how poorly the analog stick is used for movement. Everything feels really messy. But you ignore that, and you begin looking around.
Cut scenes are plentiful and help story progression greatly. They give you a sense of accomplishment- Especially when the game gave you no hints on where to go.
The graphics on the island are colourful but boring. It looks like a Nintendo 64 game and not a next gen Nintendo Wii game. Most exploring requires walking up to ledges to see if you can go down them since the camera is fixed in incredibly awkward angles at every moment.
The hydration, food, and energy bars go down far too fast and it's incredibly difficult to find supplement for the characters in the rate it requires. A coconut only fills three percent and it goes down something like 1 percent a second.
Back to exploring, there is NO map besides a small one int he right hand corner. Once you're lost you're lost. You'll find yourself face to face with many game overs from dehydration and starvation that could have otherwise been prevented due to no map to see where you are.
The game has many minigames, most of which are fun and innovative. However, they get dull.
The new pet system is basically useless and you'll hardly find an excuse to use it.

Graphics: 2/10
Plot: 7/10
Controls: 3/10
Music/audio: 3/10
Fun: 0/10
Overall: 2/10

The game itself is fun to play, although a bit difficult to navigate on a 26" screen at 480p. The biggest problem is that it doesn't autosave, and has a nasty habit of crashing, in particular when you are shaking trees.
