Go on youtube and watch the Lost Odyssey trailer. Now tell me you're not trying to get your hands on this after watching that. In all seriousness, this is a good, satisfying RPG.

The characters are fleshed out nicely and the design is nice. The combat is turn-based, but thanks to a certain feature it doesn't get TOO boring. This is one of those games which requires A LOT of scavenging and running around, and that can get very repetitive. If you're an impatient gamer, you may be exasperated soon enough.

The story is thrilling, and Kaim is a great character to build a story around. The graphics are incredible (this game is 5 years old and yet the graphics are comparable to games released this year) and gamers with a taste for musical scores and backstory will love the readable "dreams" Kaim has.

For the achievement hunters out there, this game is no cakewalk for 100% completion. There's just so many items to collect and leveling your characters will require a lot of effort, and the final bosses can be a real pain. If I recall correctly, there is some free DLC available for this game as well.

Overall, if you enjoy a good RPG, this game is certainly worth your time.

This game had potential but definitely didn't deliver. The design seemed ok, it kind of reminded me a little of old school rpgs. But the first thing I noticed that I didn't like were the whole "dream" sequences. Talk about lazy. Rather than have actual cutscenes that show flashbacks, they just show a bunch of text for you to read. Lame. I could have lived with that if not for hitting a brick wall in the beginning of the game. The first real boss fight is rediculously hard. He likes to do area attacks that take nearly half of everyones health, which is pretty much a death sentence since you don't get any decent heals or healing items at this point in the game. Even leveling up for a bit and making other rings didn't help at all. There is one ring that I made that says it raises damage against flying creatures, which this boss definitely is, well it made no difference, as if it wasn't flagged right as being a flying creature. After a couple days of giving this game extra chances I decided it's not worth the frustration. I mean 2 people that are supposedly immortal dieing to the first cheap boss they encounter is just lame. Time to send this back for something better.
