Glad I found this Odyssey.

So first, let me say that anyone reporting "long loading times" or "too much reading", really? REALLY? The load times are 10-15 seconds AT THEIR WORST. I installed the game, they load almost instantly. No problems there. And as for reading, yes there is a ton of reading, but know why? BECAUSE IT'S AN RPG. NOT A SHOOT-EM-UP NO BRAINIER GAME THAT HOLDS YOUR HAND WITH PRETTY PICTURES INSTEAD OF WORDS. Now that that is aside, on to my review.
I thought that the game was fan-freaking-tastic. The story kept me pretty well interested, the game play mechanics with the ring swapping and immortal/mortal skill trade was pretty neat, and made me feel like I was actually doing something instead of mindly mashing ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK. I've read a lot of people also complain about the first boss, and how hard he is. Yeah he's tough. He's pretty much the one that says "guess what suck'a, see that GC bar? Yeah watch me knock that down to Lv. 1 and smash your back row, oh know why? BECAUSE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO WORK IT OUT. Realistically, it's not a tough fight. It's a very defensive fight. Yeah I was frustrated when I tried to run-n-sword through it, and was getting wiped out every time. But then I thought, wait a tick, I can defend with my front row, heal occasionally and nuke with my back row, and won't you know it, success. I'm now knee deep into the second disk and enjoying every step of the way.
The characters are pretty entertaining to watch(and some to look at), the cut-scenes(especially the first one about the meteor) are gorgeous. The rendering looks good, some FPS issues here and there but nothing for me to stick my nose at. Overall, I'm excited to play through the rest of the game. I definitely would say to pick this up if you like old school RPGs.
