I'm not the biggest lord of thr rings fan,but after playing lotr conquest things changed. The online experience is nothing short of awesome. There is the standard modes such as capture the flag (in this case ring),single or team deathmatch,But conquest mode is the most fun.In this mode u team up with other users and capture different teritories on the map, and at a certain point the highest scorer on the leading team gets a opportunity to play as a hero or vilan from the movies. There is also a Hero deathmatch option that puts good vs evil. This game could have come close to a 10 if not for the less than stellar visuals. Another thing that holds this game back is the fact that the campaign is too short and if you play it alone you can sometimes be overwhelmed by enemies. However if you choose to play the campaign with a friend things become alot more managable. To sum it all up Lord of the rings conquest is a game with two faces. If you are a online gamer then this game might be up your alley. If not this game is still worth taking a look at.

Pay no attention to any reviewer who gives this game a low rating. This game is great!!!! It is practically identical to Battlefront 2 but still cool in it's own way! If you have played and liked Battlefront 2 you will like this game. It is the same concept as Battlefront 2 but has a LOtR twist on it. The fighting is good basically a hack and slash game kinda like Heavenly Sword.
There are four classes to choose from. One uses a sword, another spells and a sword, another with a knife and invisibility, and the last one throws axes. All are good but I prefer warrior, much simpler concept, Just kill everything in sight. Graphics are nice and the way you can have up to over a hundred enemies in screen at the same time is pretty sweet. And even with all these enemies, you normally do not get overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the evil campaign you do not unlock until you beat the good campaign.

Pros: Nice graphics, different classes are good, fighting is simple and special attacks are easy to remember. Lots of enemies make for some fun combos. Good story stays true to the movies.

Cons: Camera angle isn't good, you can not play evil campaign until you beat good campaign is a rip off!

Besides these flaws this game is very fun and you should try it. But if you did not like Battlefront 2, you will not like this.

Somewhat of a Disappointment

If you're a fan of the Star Wars: Battlefront series, I suspect you may be disappointed with this one. The graphics are not what you would expect for the next gen systems. Battlefront 2 has near equivalent graphics.

The story mode is enjoyable but is much too short. Again, Battlefront 2's story was far superior.

The multi-player was also disappointing. EA does not divide the rooms based on experience level, so as a casual gamer, I'm pitted against people who haven't left their basement since the game came out - clearly a mismatch.

I'm not a huge LOR fan, but I must admit that this does not do a ton for the series. It's worth a rent but certainly not a purchase.
