After reading all of the deriding reviews on this game, I honestly wasn't expecting much. But it turned out, as the title says, suprisingly good. It has fun Battlefront-style gameplay. All of the classes are well-balanced. There are archers, warriors, and mages, and you sometimes get to play as giants or heroes (souped-up versions of normal units). The campaign is absolutely OUTSTANDING, with extremely exhilarating objectives and the ability to play on both good and evil. The skirmish mode (called conquest) was not quite as awesome, but still fun to play, especially on the smaller maps. On the larger maps (Pellenor Fields), it boiled down to roving warbands capturing command posts with little to no fighting. Speaking of maps, there was only six (however well-designed they were), and the game doesn't have much replay value because of that. The other letdown was the graphics and audio. It was sometimes hard to tell good from bad, and there was only one or two repeating songs. No awesome LOTR music for this game.
Overall, I would suggest this to any fan of LOTR or Battlefront and anyone else who likes this genre.
