Unlucky Duck

I want to love this game. The premise is that classic Daffy Duck cartoon where he is on an all white background and the animator messes with him by poking him or erasing his body altogether, etc. These annoyances open up mini-games including classic cartoon situations such as Duck Dodgers and Robin Hood (minus Porky Pig's genius Friar Tuck.)

Pros: The animation RULES. Straight out of classic Chuck Jones and Friz Freling animation, the colors look like the Looney Tunes hand drawn cell animation I grew up on. Marvin the Martian, classic "bar attendees" and other characters pop up and the colors are amazing. There is also an amazing utilization of the DS and it's dual screen ability. During the Robin Hood and a racing mini-game, you have to actually use the microphone and blow into the microphone in order to finish the game.

Cons: Overall, the minigames suck. They aren't cool enough to pull me in, and most of them are fairly disjointed from anything else going on. They become "fun" only by default that I'm on the bus with nothing better to do, but in the back of my head I am always thinking how I could play Mario Kart and be much more entertained.

End Result: I'm returning this game tomorrow, and I only received it a few days ago. It just doesn't hold my interest. Maybe I'd purchase this on the super sale rack for 10 bucks.

Do you remember that oooold Looney Tunes episode by the same name of this game? The one where the "animator" kept messing with Daffy thruout the whole episode and it was hilarious as all get out? No...? Then skip this game, it's not for you. Wait, you DO remember that episode?! What the heck are you doing still reading?! Go BUY this game!!! I beat the thing (Fill Daffy's Anger Meter lol) in maybe a half an hour and you know what I did? Played it thru twice more, I was laughing the whole time! Use the stylus to slice Daffy in half...over and over again as he gets smaller and smaller and there's more and more of him. Chop up, slice and dice vegetables and ingredients as they come across the screen to make the perfect Duck Soup lol. But my fave is the Candle Sneak, in which you have to keep blowing out Daffy's candle as he creeps up the stairs to light the torch until finally he grabs a stick of dynamite from the box... don't blow THAT one out hahahaha Poor Daffy! It gets even MORE interesting when there's a drip on the ceiling and you have to blow gently so that the wick of the dynamite doesn't go out, but Daffy still stops and shields his light so the drip doesn't put it out. Anyways, these are just a few of the many minigames included in this fun romp, but again, I need to reiterate my main statement. If you remember the episode upon which this game is based, BUY THIS!!! If you don't remember it, either skip this game or go find the episode online or something and when you're done wiping away the tears of laughter, THEN go buy this game lol

A shame...

So I have to admit I was kinda hopeful about this game because I LOVE that cartoon so much and thought it would be a perfect fit with the DS technology.

Unfortunately it controls like a mack truck without a steering wheel and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what, if any, object there was to the game.

After randomly tapping/stroking the screen and inadvertently starting up the same repetitive little mini-game for the third time, I couldn't play anymore.

I highly advise against it.
