I have played every Zelda since I was in Kindergarten playing the original after school. All the iterations had their ups and downs, but I enjoyed them all.

Until this one.

It's boring. It's entirely too easy. You play for hours until you finally get to the first dungeon and kill something, which takes no real skill, just mashing the red button will do fine.

I hate the cell shading, but friends told me to give it a shot, so I did. Like the graphics or not, the gameplay is lousy.

Maybe it's because I don't have the patience now that I did when I was younger, but this game did nothing for me except eat up a few yawning hours of my time. The first island you wander around for an hour talking to every person while trying to find a sail. They all talk for paragraphs at a time, causing you to hit A over and over and over to get through what they're saying- 10% of which is actually relevant to the story.

Maybe it's because I didn't finish the game or get to some of the really great parts, but I clocked in 10 hours or so and was still bored, so that was enough for me.

this was an interesting game the major thing that i did not like about it was all of the sailing that was required. The ending i felt was pretty anti climactic.

For anyone that has played any of the Zelda games on the N64 you quickly see the similarity of the gameplay with this version. The main difference is the wind/sailing interaction.

However, due to the cell shaded graphics involved this one simply feels much more kiddie and far less serious. Which is a major drawback for us adult players!

Story, which typically is the strong point of the Zelda series, is much more simplistic this time around. Again, this is geared towards a younger audience.

Zelda, while still a quality franchise, definitely needs a complete overhaul if it wishes to continue to keep an audience over 14 yrs. old. Keep in mind, the fans that have been playing Zelda since the NES are well into their 30's now and expect the series to evolve and mature with them. Otherwise, Nintendo will have to abandon these loyal fans and start over. They are losing me very quickly and many others as well.

The next major Zelda game will be it for me if Nintendo goes this childish route again.

Overall: Good game but ONLY for the young age group. Anyone over 14 is better off playing many other games.

I am a major Zelda fan and I speak the trueth
when I say this game is not good.

Good:

New weapons

That's all I can think of.

Bad:

Graphics

Bosses

Sailing.

This is not a bad game. What I really Disliked
was the sailing. It's very repetitive and boring.
The bosses also didn't have their own flavor. Many
were copied from other Zelda titles.

I don't know why people say this game deserves a 10. It deserves an 8 at the most.

A good game is one that you can beat more than once and it won't get boring.

If you're just starting thr Zelda series then I reccomend this one.

If not. Meh...

And that is the constant baby-sitting of the wind while sailing the open seas. Other then that, there is no excuse to not like this game. I've heard that some hard-core Zelda fan's don't like Toon Link but if they let that bother them so much that they don't even play Wind Waker, they are missing out on a awesome game.
There are so many fun mini-quest's in this game to pass the time while you avoid going to the next dungeon.
Or, you could just stick to the main objective of the game and go from dungeon to dungeon defeating bosses and such. This is a great game for first-time zelda players or a long-time players (such as myself). The items you get along the way are so much fun...Especially the picto-box (I can't stop taking pictures of the in-game characters and making them into figurines!!) I've had such a blast with this game and would recommend it to anyone who is debating renting/buying it or not.

The graphics are pretty, the control is solid, and the story is quite interesting. I especially like the unusual portrayal of Ganon as an almost tragic villain. Unfortunately, however, "The Wind Waker" just doesn't manage to be a truly worthy successor to "Ocarina of Time". There's lots of fun and exciting stuff to do here, yes, but it's also weighed down by problems it can't quite overcome, such as that awful stealth mission at the Forsaken Fortress near the beginning of the game (the last thing I want to do in a Zelda game is go all Splinter Cell on a castle full of Moblins), and especially the way it requires the player to locate the eight pieces of the Triforce of Courage. (Scavenge the sea, constantly changing the direction of the wind, for an exorbitant sum of Rupees, then give them all away to that creepy jerk Tingle so that he'll tell you where to go and dredge one up. Then repeat, and repeat, and repeat.)

Definitely worth playing if you're a Zelda fan, but I doubt it's the kind of game you'll be coming back to again and again.

Great game, nuff said. Didn't really have any problems with it, enjoyed sailing the seas and had fun. Also liked to play it even after i beat it. Sure it's no Ocarina of Time but I'd rather not compare the two in the first place and just enjoy this one.

Legend of Zelda Wind Waker is a fun, humorous game with a hint of violence, and puzzle solving. Don't call me a noob but i havent beaten the game yet. I have to say the graphics were a bit of a surprise. My favorite weapon is the bow. They don't cost much and pack a punch. Also using bombs are fun on the grunts(seen at the beginning)because they go "Ah!" and run away. The grabbling hook is useful not only for the dragon roost dungeon, but if you swing it a and enemy, you'll steal the prize you'd get normally if you killed it (joy pendent, skull necklace, etc.) and if you keep doing that you'll also get a rupee or two. Treasure hunting under water is rather useful, however im not good at using the maps, i just look for the glowing light in the water. Not only do they use Legend of zelda gameplay elements they also throw in sailing. What's cool is my dad was in the navy, so i enjoy sailing, shooting octopi with my arrows and bombs, as well as going to the enemy forts and kill them, and marketing with other ships. Though the storyline is kinda cheesey, the whole,"sister getting kidnapped by an oversized bird," heh, heh, not really, thats what others say. i say that its creative, has some serious thinking behind it and was amusing. Now what legend of zelda changes the most is the transportation, a horse, a boat, a train(shurg), or just on foot. Next to Twilight Princess, this is my favorite zelda of all.

Well as a gamer and a zelda fan, i wasnt that impressed with this game. for a toon link game the graphics were good. But in the middle of the game there is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE mandatory quest which doesnt just need, but almost requires a walkthrough. but other than that it was preatty good. like all other zelda games when you beat it, you feel a sense of dissapointment because the game is over (which technacally is a good thing). I would definitly rent it but the only reason i would buy it is if a really good game like metroid is next on my Q.

I hate stupid story of Wind Waker! It all starts out with sombodys birthday that leads to clothes, that leads to some girl stuck in a tree....from there it all goes down! He just had to save her! (I wish he left her in that tree to hang forever!) Tetra was her name...I think. It was her that caused that dumb monster to take his sister. (So not his sister!) The wind didn't really blow me away. I just got inside so it would die down. (Wish Tetra would die!) I don't like how everything is so...cartoon. Why can't he look like a 17 year old like in Twilight Princess? I Wonder why he skips from a kid to 17. (Mystery!) (This will bug me for years!)

This graphics are bad. The storyline is pretty stupid to be truthful. Music is all right. I just didn't like this one. Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, all great, not Wind Waker.

Wind Waker is very short too.

A great game that you might need the statugy guide for but is still great! filled with new items and characters and once you complete the game you can play it again with some extra twists!
It may be a little frustrating with having to ride the boat everywhere and when you don't want to do but it seems like there is always some side missions you can complete for some extra rupies or upgrades. Over all its a great game that has literaly (((YEARS))) of fun.

This is terrific game and better than most made for the Wii so far -- if you have a Wii but never played this, I strongly encourage you to do so. It stands up well graphically thanks to the charming cel-shaded appearance. There are so many things to do in the game world that I couldn't hope to finish them all. The only down-side is the sometimes unwieldy mechanic of sailing everywhere, although that is alleviated somewhat part-way through the game, and even after hours of doing it I still sometimes found it exhilarating to get the wind under my sails. Just a very cool game that stands up very, very well to other entries in this series.
