No matter how it looks it is a hardcore Legend of Zelda game. Don't let the cartoony look throw you off. It even gets super hardcore at the end.

PS: Don't mess with cartoon link

Great adventure

A great game that you might need the statugy guide for but is still great! filled with new items and characters and once you complete the game you can play it again with some extra twists!
It may be a little frustrating with having to ride the boat everywhere and when you don't want to do but it seems like there is always some side missions you can complete for some extra rupies or upgrades. Over all its a great game that has literaly (((YEARS))) of fun.

My first actual Legend of Zelda experience in 3D

I've played some of Legend of Zelda games on Gameboy and Gameboy advance. They were so much fun to play. When I played this game, Windwaker, it was even more fun than ever before. My most favorite weapon of all is the Hero's bow. I like to have the urge to shoot arrows with a bow. I really like how you can sail with your own boat anywhere on the map. It seems there's a lot of islands out there to explore and it's interesting to play this game because there's seem to be a lot of things to do. Honestly, I didn't do much of the sidequests because I don't like doing sidequest that much. So I just get it over with and went to rescue his sister and defeat Ganon. It is a no brainer when you fight the bosses because when you get a new weapon, that's the weapon that will help you defeat the boss, so keep that in mind.

Pros:
I like the cel shading graphics and the main character, Link looks like a comical character but like Yoda says, "Size matters not". Gameplay is quite satisfying to use. Really simple and it can be quite fast to learn from. Enemies are fun to kill. When there's a will, there's a way.

Cons:
Targeting enemies can be quite a hassle. If I was fighting multiple enemies, I had a hard time targeting who I wanted to target. If only if there's a button to select any enemy you want to fight but hey the targeting is okay. Any other cons? Not that I know of.

Final thoughts:
Play this game. Rent or own. If you are a Zelda fan, this can be a really good game for your Zelda collection. If you're looking for an action/adventure plus puzzle yet so simple to do so, then this is also for you. Other than that, just play it because it's a really awesome game.

One of Zelda's best

This is terrific game and better than most made for the Wii so far -- if you have a Wii but never played this, I strongly encourage you to do so. It stands up well graphically thanks to the charming cel-shaded appearance. There are so many things to do in the game world that I couldn't hope to finish them all. The only down-side is the sometimes unwieldy mechanic of sailing everywhere, although that is alleviated somewhat part-way through the game, and even after hours of doing it I still sometimes found it exhilarating to get the wind under my sails. Just a very cool game that stands up very, very well to other entries in this series.

Everyone I know has said that this game has kidish graphics, I thought the graphics were awesome! Almost everything was awesome about this game! I liked the gameplay. The characters had a lot of personality too. Tetra has an attitude. Aryll is well...little sisterish. Medli is sweet and kind. I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I highly recommend it!

The Wind Waker is one of the best Zelda games ever created! It has all of the classic Zelda elements, like puzzles and magic swords, but it also includes a cartoony feel that will pass as eye-candy to many fans. Many have complained about the never-ending sailing, but there is a way to skip it, using the titular wind waker. This Zelda adds itself to the list of the greatest video games ever, no questions asked.

Now, if you are like me, you were probably thinking this wouldn't be a very good game, you were thinking that this is the end of Zelda. This game is the perfect example of "Don't choose a book by its cover".....

You start out as a boy who lives with his sister Aryll, and his grandmother on Outset Island. In the beginning of the game, Aryll gets kidnapped by a large bird and you set out on a pirate ship to search for her. Along the way, you will acquire different items, meet new people, and even stop to play a minigame or two. You will also see some of the enemies from OOT, including Redeads, Darknuts, Moblins and even Ganondorf.

The over-all gameplay really surprized me because it actually wasn't much different from the gameplay in OOT or MM for the N64. You still have the unique lock on ability, which makes fighting MUCH easier. After hearing the awesome story of the game and after you start playing it and getting into it, you wont even remember you are playing a toon-shading type Zelda game. This game brought back so many memories from the old Zelda games, with the same sounds, music and the same great story. I would recommend any Zelda fan to rent and/or buy this game, you WONT regret it.

Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker, is the most recent totally new adventure for the Nintendo Gamecube. This was my first Zelda game, and only 2 days after I first played it I bought it!

Good: A lot to do, very addicting, nice twist in the story.

Bad: Can get confusing at times.

The Wind Waker features a twist in not only graphics but also in the story of Zelda itself.
The graphics are much more funny, but are very detailed. The gameplay it's self is so great that it is incredible that they could fit so much stuff on such a small disc.

At times you will feel frustrated because you overlook things that don't seem very important, but they are.

Overall, you will play this game for hours, and in some cases a whole night! It's just that good.
TWO THUMBS UP TO ZELDA THE WIND WAKER!!!

First off this game is good but has almost nothing to do with Ocarina of Time or Majoras Mask. In fact it isn't even Link. Next This is a fun and challenging game but it does get a little repetitive at some points. The controls are solid and it does do a good job of locking on (Z-targeting for all of the people who understand that your welcome). The story is less than perfect but will satisfy. The way i break down my games is as followed:

Graphics: 7
Game play: 8
Characters: 7
Controls: 9
Replay Value: 10
Difficulty: 6
Fun: 9

There it is this game is a buy for Zelda fans but a game you will want to rent for a long time.

P.S. Finding all of the triforce shards is harder than god knows what.
A very worthy game to be called part of the Zelda Franchise.

wind waker is my favorite game for gamecube! my only criticism is that link's head and body are slightly misproportioned. (his head's a little big.) but the world is huge and diverse, and there are so many fun things to do. with a big world and an awesome arsenal, there's nowhere you can go wrong!!

P.S. - the game is much more fun after you get the master sword and skull hammer!

Having played most Zelda games, this title had a lot to live up to for me. It did and then some. I would rate it 2nd overall in the Zelda series and I would say it's in my top 5 for game cube.

Pros:
Great Gameplay
Enough similarities to the older Zeldas without being the same game.
Good replay value
Expansive world with plenty to explore and lots of side missions

Cons:
Yes, cell shaded animation looks like poo, but you'll get over it quick
Very PG/characters and target audience is very young.
Link still refuses to talk.

There is only one reason not to like this game.

And that is the constant baby-sitting of the wind while sailing the open seas. Other then that, there is no excuse to not like this game. I've heard that some hard-core Zelda fan's don't like Toon Link but if they let that bother them so much that they don't even play Wind Waker, they are missing out on a awesome game.
There are so many fun mini-quest's in this game to pass the time while you avoid going to the next dungeon.
Or, you could just stick to the main objective of the game and go from dungeon to dungeon defeating bosses and such. This is a great game for first-time zelda players or a long-time players (such as myself). The items you get along the way are so much fun...Especially the picto-box (I can't stop taking pictures of the in-game characters and making them into figurines!!) I've had such a blast with this game and would recommend it to anyone who is debating renting/buying it or not.

This game is just amazing. For me, this game has always been so adventurous! With 40+ islands to explore, and loads of side-quests, this game will take a long time finish 100%!

Many people hate the graphics, but I think there great! If your a classic zelda fan, then you'd probably would prefer more realistic graphics. This game also has some puzzling dungeons. You'll encounter enemies from ChuChus, to the horrifying ReDeads! (Which sound like elephants screaming in pain for some odd reason...) The sidequests are also fun and hard (that's what she said!). If you're having trouble, you also can connect a gameboy to your console and call Tingle! You can have your kids, friends, etc., to help you out by playing as Tingle!

The only problems I found with this game was the sailing, but later in the game, you get the ability to warp to various islands, making sailing MUCH MUCH easier! If you have trouble with any dungeons, you can check out some Let's plays or walkthroughs on youtube, ign. etc. (I REALLY recommend Chuggaaconroy's Wind waker LP for help)

Good things:
Superb adventuring
Fun side-quests
Funny at some points
Good storyline
Challenging dungeons
Tingle Turner

Bad things:
Repetitive sailing
Frustrating to figure out what to do at times

So I give this a 10/10 I REALLY recommend you getting this game, it's completely worth it.

I love this game. There is so much to do and it's so fun and intense with the music. :) The graphics are okay and when you get to windfall island it's awesome! There is a lot to do there. I think its a pretty EASY game and I really enjoyed it. Sometimes its frustrating but you can look for walkthroughs and cheats on Youtube or here. I look on Youtube usually so you can watch it instead of reading or whatever but... yeah. Super fun!
