I'm a serious deaf female gamer. Whenever I chose a game from Gamefly - the number one thing that I look for is does the game have subtitles? A serious deaf gamer cannot play at leisure or seriously a game that DOES NOT have subtitles. It makes it hard for deaf person to play a game if it involves a lot of communication between characters, or clues to follow.
However, in Legacy of Kain; I was pleased to the core that this game had subtitles, and made the game more pleasurable to play. I took my sweet time playing the game because it is hard to find games that actually have subtitles!
All of the cinematics are in subtitles, including the Dark Chronicles. The only drawback was that at the very end of the game - the bonus part - it was not subtitled! I would have liked to know what Kain had said at the very end. Very moving ending, but still...to send away a game without knowing what his last words were was disappointing.
After all, the game was super-b in f/x, especially during the cinematics. It takes brains to figure out some of the plays but at each character's role, you are surprised by many twists and turns.
If you are a serious deaf gamer, I would strongly suggest that you pick this game even though if you may or may not have played Soul Reaver 1 and 2 which sucked majorly because these two games DID NOT HAVE SUBTITLES!
Hope this was helpful to you in your future gaming picks.
