Left 4 Dead Is Worth a Play

While fairly short for a single player game (About four total hours with one play through), Left 4 Dead still is worth playing, at least once. Gunning your way through levels of hordes of zombies with a variety of weapons is quite fun.

If you have some buddies to play off/online co-op, then this is the perfect game for you an worth buying.

If you are a single player type of gamer, then rent this game today and play through the single player campaign, at least once. It does change things up each time you play the same level, so you never know where the next surprise zombie, etc., will come from.

I'm not a super technical nerd, but I though the game looked and played great. The graphics and use of the flashlight on each gun really adds to the feeling of immersion in the character's story. Scanning your gun side-to-side in a dark room, only to find a handful of zombies in the corner ready to pounce.... when you had no idea they were there before your light hit them.

And that, in a nut shell, is why this game is great fun to play.

First things first, I've been waiting for this game for a couple of years now, and now that I've finally gotten to play it I'm blown away by the end results.

The game is a shooter from the very talented Valve team, (who where also behind Half-life 2, Team Fortress 2, counter-strike, ect.) They've taken the team game play, from TF2 and mixed it in with movie like visuals and zombies and they ended up with left 4 dead.

Let me also start off by saying This is supposed to be a Multi-player game, if you want a Single-player game from Valve, try half life, but this is for not only for you but your buddies as well. the game-play seams straight forward, but after playing through one of the 4 sprawling movie campaigns, you can see and really feel what sets this game apart from other shooters with a similar premises. Please don't think of this game as another resident evil or 28 days later knock off, its very deep with 3 different game play modes, off-line single player, online multi-player and versus mode (you can play as one of the survivors or the boss infected.)

The graphics in this game are great, the visuals are fantastic and the music score (led by the A.I. Director, who directs where every thing will spawn the next time you play through a map, from boss infected, regular infected, items, music, and even lighting, leaving you with unlimited re-playability)

I did have some issues with this game though, the off-line mode supports split screen, but for only 2 people, you can't play versus mode off-line, and the human A.I. can be kind of stupid at times, but overall this is an amazing game and it was well worth the wait.
