I first of all was excited but nervous about Left 4 Dead 2. I was a huge L4D1 fan and didn't want to be left disappointed by a less-rewarding sequel. Boy was I proved wrong. L4D2 has everything and then more. I normally find little things here and there that cause some type of annoyance for me but this game hardly deals out those annoyances.
Items in the game: The variety of weapons, throwable items and health aids has improved drastically. New weapons include a SCAR assault rifle, silenced uzi, crowbar, katana, fire axe and many others as well. An AED (or defibrillator) is now available to "revive" teammates that have bitten the dust, epinephrine shots to speed up and highten all of your senses, and one of my favorite items is the boomer bile, perfect for distracting a horde or even getting them to unleash on each other or even a tank.
As far as gameplay goes: New gameplay modes have also been thrown in the mix which adds for less chance of being bored with the typical "fight to the extraction point" mood that some gamers are left with after a while. Instead of just playing four different campaigns, the developers have added a fifth campaign to help add a little more variety. Something else I love is the fact that there are new common infected and special infected. You won't be seeing the same five or six faces on the zombies anymore, as each campaign holds new varieties of common infected, some with special attributes; such as SWAT officers with bullet proof armor. Three new special infected have been added with their own unique attacks, mixing up the gameplay for those online gamers who love playing as the infected on versus mode.
All in all this game is loads of fun and offers so many exciting details to ensure you're always on the edge of your seat waiting for that Hunter to pounce on you....or waiting to rip apart some zombies with a chain saw :)
