Very Good

Great game, bad engine

The game itself is very cool. Interesting battle setup, the story, the characters, the equipment, all really cool. The only downside to this game is that it lags out quite often, even after being installed to the hard drive. Also, the characters randomly disappear during battles. Other than that, I thing its awesome. I'd recommend it and just urge people to get pass the lag.

First off I would like to get out my aggression toward this game right off the bat. I know some of you are achievement gods and want a perfect 1000/1000. Well two of the secret achievements in this game are near impossible and total 400 points. Also barely any of the achievements are actually tied to the storyline which I find kind of odd for an RPG. All that aside let me get to the good part, as I don't really care so much about achievement points and rather am fond of a beautifully constructed game.

The graphics are outstanding in this game. The detail is amazing and almost seamless. A lot of people say there is a lot of lag and the detail in the game has trouble do to the Unreal 3 engine the developers used. After watching the first cut scene which thrusts you directly into an immense battle between two kingdoms was completely beautiful and brilliant detail right down to hair movement and uniform style. The game has failed to disappoint me graphic wise.

Now for the true brilliance of this game. While the battles are "JRPG" style focused being turn based, you have unlimited freedom over how to fight, strategies, and control over your unit/ troops fighting style. You learn how certain enemies like to fight and can base your battle units' skill set and abilities to cut off enemy groups at the pass making your overall group morale to fight go up meaning your units' will to fight improves and individual characters will be able to do more damage and execute specialized attacks. High morale and fighting well will improve your chances of using your "remnant powers" which certain characters that have been bound to a remnant can then execute a very beautiful and immensely powerful attack on individual or multiple foes. The graphics spare no skimping on these specialized attacks in battle.

The storyline is great from the start and hooks you into caring for the main characters. Overall I give this game an excellent rating for the innovation of battle and graphics!

I am very picky when it comes to RPG's. I can honestly say that the last RPG that I remember enjoying was Final Fantasy X. Since then I have tried other RPG's but none have kept my attention since this one.

Given that it does take a while for the game to get going once you have your teams it becomes more fun as now you start coming up with different kinds of strategy to take out the enemies. Give the game a chance and you might find yourself enjoying it like i am.
