Claus and Lavie have been friends since they were kids. They've long shared a dream of becoming famous Vanship pilots, earning a living as elite couriers who fearlessly fly their deliveries into even the most dangerous situations. In the midst of a mission that will likely bring them everything they've wanted, the two pause to help a stranded ship. Claus and Lavie pick up a girl named Alvis, who they need to deliver to space battleship Silvana. The two may have bitten off more than they can chew, as they're soon caught in the middle of an aerial war between two enemy factions. Last Exile Vol. 1 First Movie begins director Koichi Chigira's beautifully animated fantasy mech saga set in a retro-futuristic world filled with 1940s-style planes.
