LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues
Suffering from Crystal Skull Syndrome
There’s something not quite right about being underwhelmed by a LEGO game, particularly one based on your favorite film series. Everything’s here that should make this splendid: charming LEGO-ized characters (and lots of ’em), amusing presentation, locations from the movies, and a wide range of tasks from minigames to the broader Story mode.
And yet, at the risk of making a LEGO-based pun, this never really clicks. Maybe it’s the massively glitchy graphics, dumb AI companions or (thankfully optional) occasional touchscreen controls – they certainly stop you from engaging with plastic Indy. The hub system is confusing too, potentially leading to hours running around the same small area before realising how to kickstart the main adventure.
This is a lovely bit of fan service, packed with typical LEGO jokes, but even devotees of the films and/or LEGO games may struggle to enjoy the clunky process of keeping up with the Joneses.
