I will give the game props for the cut scenes which were very cute/funny. And also for the creativeness of doing spells and such - if you are a fan of HP you'll like that you can do Lumos in dark places. :)
Downside is: my husband and I played this game on our 24 inch tv (non flat screen, non lcd, non hd, nothing special tv) and it was somewhat difficult to distinguish items / locations in game. We have played Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Star Wars on the same tv before as well as Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 and had no difficulties with those games which leads me to believe that the heavy/dark color scheme of the Lego Harry Potter game (mostly maroon, navy, hunter green ect ect) might have had something to do with it.
My grandsons loved this game..so much in fact they have requested it as a christmas gift to add to their game collection..the enjoyed the ablity to build and to play mini games, loved the spells and game play...since the oldest is 10 and his brother is 8..I would say its great for those age groups.
