LA Noire

This game has a nice start, you are working as a beat cop. By the time I made it halfway through the game, it just became the same old stuff and I lost any desire to continue.

Not a whole lot of action to be had, anytime you go to a crime in progress you just end up in a shoot out most of the time.

Not using fast travel just punishes you. You risk running people over and doing city damage. There's no reason to not fast travel in this game and I'm glad I had the option to do so.

Definitely worth a rental, not worth buying.

More Than Just Cops and Robbers

When i got this game I thought it would just be cop shows on tv, but this is a thousand times better. You don't just look over a crime scene for clues, you look over a crime scene for evidence you wouldn't expect to be there that sooner or later makes or breaks the case. Also In L.A. Noire you have the ability to ask questions, this is a rare thing to see in games, but the questions come with a twist! You have to judge whether the person is telling the truth or not. Also there are street crimes from suicidal people to bank robbers that you have to deal with (If you want to).

Easily one of the top 3 games of the year.

To start this review off, this game is not a RDR or GTA so if you rent/buy it with those type of expectations of a action sandbox do whatever the heck you want type of game. Think again.

Let's start with the Pros.

Great, I mean absolutely gorgeous graphics.

Does a great job of story telling, which most games lack. There is about 3 stories going on at the same time.

Interrogation is pretty mind testing and actually makes you think. Which most games lack.

Action is your standard 3rd person run/cover type. I think of it as a toned down Uncharted style of action.

Many things to do.

Now with the Cons.

Driving is a big part of the game. The driving controls are OK at best.

My big gripe with it, is that the Car Chase scenes are very unfair. They expect you to make outrageous turns.

The ending was very dull in my opinion, and leaves you with a downer feeling.

Lacks a online multi-player component, not a big deal though.

In conclusion, I loved this game.
