For what this game was it was a great game but until i read the gamefly descrition i thought it was a mobster game but that wasn't that big of a dissapointment. The biggest dissapointment was that on all other rockstar games you could do whatever you wanted, pull out your gun anywhere, kill people, steal cars, get in fights, do mini games, but this was not true for L.A. Noire. You can still take vehicles from peds but you do not steal them you use your badge to have them get out of there vehicles so this game was a major dissapointment from what i was expecting and from what Rockstar normally makes.
When I first fired up this game I was amazed at the detailed city and spectacular graphics. The facial animations were also extremely detailed and definitely the best I have ever seen in a console game.
I really, really wanted to like this game. After four or five hours of play I just couldn't do it anymore.
I would say this game is 90% investigation and 10% action. You spend most of your time interviewing witnesses and people who may be involved with the crime. Searching the crime scene for clues is also a huge part of the game. Tailing people in you car also plays a part.
My main gripe with this game is that it is way too slow and mundane for my liking. Some may really like this game and I can understand why. If there was a little more action and less investigation I might have been more likely to keep playing.
It is has nowhere near the action of Rockstar's other sandbox games. Just because you enjoyed Red dead or GTA 4 doesn't mean you will enjoy this.
Overall, a different kind of game, but too slow for my enjoyment.
