Later this year when Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong hits theaters, the videogame market is going to be flooded with virtual recreations of the film. The Xbox, PS2, PC, GameCube, Nintendo DS
even the Xbox 360 will be getting a videogame version. The Game Boy Advance is among those systems, though its game will be a significant departure from the bigger productions due to the lesser system capabilities.
The game will be known as Kong: The 8th Wonder of the World, and will follow the movie from the same two perspectives: humans, and Kong himself. Players will enter a top-down adventure where they'll control Jack, Carl, and Ann in a very Lost Vikings-inspired puzzle game design, using each characters' strengths in order to advance through the environments. They'll also play as Kong in side-scrolling environments, kicking butt and taking names using the ape's massive strength and size.
The game locations will be based on the film, where players go from jungles to swamps, ancient ruins to New York City.
Check out the first screenshots of the GBA game in action. We'll have more on Kong: The 8th Wonder of the World as it gets closer to its November release date.
