Kingdom Hearts: Re-Chain of Memories for PlayStation 2 Reviews by Gamers

I am a bit disappointed in the latest console installment of the Kingdom Hearts series. I feel that there was little overall improvement or addition to the game itself. You basically visit the same worlds that you visited in KH1 and re-fight monsters and bosses that you've already fought. Graphics were also unimpressive and most models were probably ripped from KH1 and imported with no change at all. A PS2 game in the year 2009 should look a lot better than this one. Controls are simple, as is most of the game. Even on standard mode it isn't very challenging at all. I do enjoy the new battle system but it doesn't seem to be quite enough. Perhaps they were headed in the right direction but didn't get it exactly right. I'd love to see this card system implemented in some fashion in a next-gen edition of KH. In essence, re-visiting the KH1 nostalgia is fun but overall this seems like a waste of production time and money. They could have made (more) progress on a next-gen Kingdom Hearts filled with new worlds, characters, systems, items, etc. in 1080p glory but instead they did a remake of a GBA game.

I really must say that once I figured out what to do with all the cards, this turned out to be a pretty fun RPG game! Anyone can fight one on one but the whole deal w/fighting and using cards made the whole game more interesting. The graphics were okay at some points cheesy to say the least. But I must say from a heavy sports game player this one was fun!
