I have been playing RPGs for 17 years, since the US release of Final Fantasy for NES, and never have I come across a game that let me down after such high expectations. Every review I have read raved about this game, and let me just say, maybe if I was ten years old again. The only redeeming factor was the battle system, which still bothered me because for the first sheesh, few hours at least, it's the exact same thing over and over and over. That's another thing, I didn't even watch a single movie, and after 4 hours of play time, I still hadn't seen the actual GAME PLAY advance to something more than basic tasks fit only for a child playing his very first RPG.
Everyone of you people who say you are a real RPG fan should be ashamed for rating this game so good. I couldn't even be bothered to finish it. Thank god for Game Fly, because if I actually paid for this tripe, I would be furious. An RPG is meant to challenge the mind with puzzles and strategy, this game only made me bored. I should have followed my initial instinct that Disney could never produce something of worth for for the adult gaming world. And dumbing down RPGs merely reinforces the Japanese perception that Americans prefer easy dumbed down games.
This is why we don't' get some of the greatest games of all time here, because of games like this.
