There's a lot going on at E3 this year across all platforms, but if you're looking for one of the most anticipated 2D fighters around, look no further than King of Fighters XII. The HD, hand-drawn title from SNK Playmore showed up at publisher Ignition Entertainment's booth, so I went hands-on with it to see what's new in the world of SNK's finest.
Unfortunately, there's really not much to say.
I went hands-on
with King of Fighters XII only a few short weeks ago and nothing has changed. The demo being shown off at E3 this year is almost identical to the content I previewed in May, which means there's little for me to say here besides point you to my previous article.
But here's a quick summary for those too lazy/sleepy to click: King of Fighters XII is a total reworking of the King of Fighters franchise, which means new (amazing) sprites, new gameplay mechanics and an overall polish that should be the standard for modern fighting games. Every time I play King of Fighters, I'm impressed with the visuals, which took SNK Playmore countless hours to create. And even though I still have a long way to go in terms of my raw skill level as a King of Fighters player, I always enjoy picking up a controller and diving into the river of nostalgia that is Terry Bogard.
So that's all for King of Fighters XII. Stay tuned for more information as we inch closer to the game's launch date.
