Everything in this game is pointless.

I just got Killer 7 in the mail a few hours ago. I played through the first level, then I stopped playing. I know that this sounds like a bad time to write a review for the game, but I think I experienced pretty much everything the game has to offer.
The reason I didn't go any farther than the first level is that I was positive that the game wasn't going to do anything interesting with the game's elements. All you do is run forward until you get to an intersection in a hallway, then you chose a path, then you keep running. Sometimes you'll find items to use in painfully cliche puzzles, and sometimes you'll come across an enemy. The combat in Killer 7 is just plain horrible. All you do is stand in one place and keep shooting the enemy until they die. You can't move while aiming, but unlike in RE4, that fact never gets in the way because all the enemies do is slowly walk toward you. Once you find an enemy, you stop walking, take out your gun, and just keep shooting the enemy until it dies. There's no skill involved, there's no strategy involved, and there's no difficulty involved. The combat system is absolutely worthless, and it does NOTHING but make the game worse.
There are only 3 elements to the game: lame puzzles, lame enemy encounters, and interaction with NPCs. As you can guess, these interactions are lame. The characters don't have voice overs, and they just keep on talking even though they don't have much to say. Also, you can't skip any text. Either you wait for the NPC to finish making weird noises as you read the text, or you just skip the conversation altogether.
Killer 7 does have its merits, though. The art style is interesting, and each playable character has its own freakishly awesome style of running and gunning. Unfortunately, even though I'm the kind of gamer that doesn't just judge games by their gameplay, the amazing art style found in Killer 7 doesn't even come close to making up for the awful game design.
