For both new comers and devoted fans this game is awesome! Roll things up and make your Katamari bigger! You begin as tiny as an ant and get big enough to roll up the entire world! This game is pure adictive fun and should not be missed!
For some reason the ladies seem to love this game especially, I recommend letting your mom, sisters, girlfriends, etc. play this one, as they will have a blast! Just be prepared, you may not get your controller back for some time.
Once again the katamari group takes a great game and rolls up the fun. I'm not sure how many mushrooms the developers had to take to come up with this concept but frack its fun and challenging. Collecting all the presents and re acquainting yourself with your cousins can be a blast Gameplay is the same thing as you would expect with a new twist...you can jump! Its neat but doesn't work as expected :( Instead of a button combination you have to shake the controller (or something like it) and it doesn't work all the time. I spent quite a few levels pumping up and down and still not going up... Though rolling has gotten a bit better than previous versions and is still just as smooth as one would expect. While the jumping mechanism is something to be worked on or hopefully patched since most games now a days can be it really doesn't take too much away from the fun. I'll be rollin' now...
Have you played any of the past Katamari games? Then you know what to expect. Quirk, and lots of it. Gameplay that few games have been able to duplicate. And LOTS to collect-presents, cousins, and rolling up everything. You do have a new storyline, involving the RoboKing. Yes, the normal King is still there, but his storyline is to go back and play levels from previous Katamari games in order to bring his memory back to him. A little bit of a letdown, but at least bringing in the collection aspect of the game doesn't make it too tedious to go back to old levels. Namco even reharshed the old music, and it's not even as good as the originals. Quite disappointing.
Overall, you get what you get with Katamari Forever. If you've never played a Katamari game before, rent it. And expect a wild and fun ride. There's not much else out there like it. But if you've grown tired of the Katamari franchise, there's no reason to come back and play it again.
