No Idea Why These Games are so Highly Praised

I played Crash Bandicoot. Loved it. I played Uncharted; its currently my favorite game series. I skipped over Jak and Daxter so I thought I would rent the HD collection to see what Naughty Dog bought to the table for this one. I was very disappointed. I didn't immediately get into it the way I did the other two series mentioned above. A lot of the racing sections were difficult in a cheap way rather than a fun way and I would have much preferred skipping them entirely. The other parts of the game like the combat and platforming were underwhelming. This has nothing to do with graphics. I don't expect a game from 2001 to look good. I just didn't care much for this; especially compared to the other franchise that developer Naughty Dog has created

Ya' it gets draggy toward the end of Jak 3, but by then you know the characters so well it's like family. I was sad to see it end. I would play other games in this series. Some other series are just lame, this one is not. They did a good job of mixing up the play and some of the bosses were silly but some were fantastic. I was sorry some of the story threads were not fully realized but I guess you have to make some hard choices as a game editor, and they did what they did. I really get frustrated when something is SO hard to accomplish that it becomes no longer fun. I didn't find that to be the case here. It was often challenging and mostly entertaining all the way through the series of three games.
