When I first heard about Izuna and her sudden unemployment in the first game, I was also overcome by waves of reviews that said the game was a bloody difficult dungeon-crawler that made a few people was their money back. Needless to say, it scared me away for a quite a bit. However, when I heard about the release of Atlas' second Izuna game, it piqued my interest. It was be free for me to try it, so I decided to give it a go, and I have to say I was impressed.
Though I'm not a heavy gamer, I do sink into video games on a fairly regular basis. Izuna 2 was just my kind of game. The controls aren't based on the touch screen, but rather the directional pad and its company, which I find fits well with the game's main attraction. The plot seems to be well thought out, saving a few holes that left me a little confused. The graphics seemed to be a little step up from the things I've seen on this first game, but you get to caught up in hacking away at all the unforgiving monsters that the graphics aren't the thing you're worried about.
The infamous SP and HP meters I've heard to much about seemed to have been but into a different system in this game, and after a few hours of building up some experience and a decent stash of talismans in order to protect that weapon you've been training with for three floors straight, the game isn't the big bad mess it's gained a reputation as. My advice? Don't listen to all the reviews saying this game will make you want to strangle kittens. Just try it out, you might be surprised at how good Izuna 2 is.
