Weak

Not quite awful but not worth buying or playing!

The controls are shoddy. Either nonresponsive or too sensitive. Clearly they didn't test the controls enough.

Graphics are so-so. I expected much better from the trailers but this is a mid-level game in terms of graphics quality.

The gameplay is very forced. You have to do exactly X when it tells you to do X and if you do anything else, you're boned. A few times you can make choices, but it's not very interesting.

Overall a low-quality product that was definitely pushed out the door to match the movie's release timing. Glad i gamefly'd it instead of buying!

Really Bad

Disappointing

I rented this with anticipation of the movie. I received it and still hadn't seen the movie. Now after playing this game I have no desire to see the move. The gameplay is VERY repetitive and the story very choppy. The way the game transitions between cutscenes and game is disconcerting and serves to pull the player out of the narrative. For me, the controls seem to be difficult to master. The lock on system seemed very problematic and never seemed to lock on to the target you wanted to in a pinch. Especially when there were multiple targets on the screen. In fact I would say it was on par with Lair's targeting if that gives readers an idea. After spending a few hours with the game, I just couldn't make myself finish it. Not to see the story and certainly not for the gameplay - and I'm willing to put up with a fair amount to see the story play out in a game. I'd recommend that unless you are a die-hard Iron Man comic fan and are willing to look past the terribly repetitive gameplay, wonky controls, and choppy story, give this game a pass.
