I am a self-admitted Harvest Moon fanatic. All of the games have such marvelous charm, but if anything in the series is charming, it's Innocent Life.
I was more than pleased with the game. Heck, I was thrilled! I don't have any of the next-gen consoles or even a DS so this was a pleasant surprise to have the ability to play it. Coming from someone who played Harvest Moon when she was 5, I think I can have some good say.
To begin with, the landscaping was phenomenal. The time it took to get from the lab to your farm, however was a downer for me. But I ended up being less annoyed by it when I got the vehicle that let you move around. The vehicle also had a bit of an annoying noise when it moved, but it took far less time to get to the Dr.'s house weekly.
The whole setting of the town had my heart melting. The pure originality of the game simply made me awe at the screen.
The plot was absolutely amazing as well. The concept of the character you're playing is slowly becoming more human like, learns to cook have fun and more and more emotions.
Though there are a few nuisances, if you like Harvest Moon you need to rent this wonderful addition to the series.

Lets get ready to Farm

Anyone remember the original Harvest Moon? This game reminds me of that game so much. The minor differences aside and that a great thing. The core game play is about running farm while solving the problems the island has.

The farm is on the top of a set of ruins that has mostly been sealed by upset island spirits for people using machines to do all the farming. However as you move along you open up more land. The game is A LOT of the same from previous versions. From game play to graphics, if you like Harvest Moon, this is a must play.

As a side note, there are some games you can make year after year and still be able to get me to pick up the controller to play. Harvest Moon is one them, especially if they keep the quality high like this.

Different Plot Angle Makes the Game

My 9 year old daughter is a Harvest Moon Fanatic. She plays anything that is Harvest Moon. Therefore, she generally has a good idea about what she likes in a Harvest Moon Game. She says that this title is very good, and she likes the futuristic slant on the game. Being a robot with the futuristic setting has made it different enough from all the other Harvest Moon games that she plays to really break up the monotony for her, and makes this title stand out amongst the others. She felt the ramp up time to start the game was slow paced and it took a long time to get past the whole introductory/tutorial/beg- inner phase of the game, but once she was out in the real world, she has been having a great time. This is the first GameFly title that she has decided to purchase and keep (with her own allowance, I might add).
