I don't normally write glowing reviews of how awesome a game is, but I felt compelled to share that this game is EXCELLENT. I downloaded the demo and it is the first one in a long time I played through multiple times just to explore.
The closest thing I can compare it to is the first time I played GTA III. Something about it captures the fun of wanting to be in the city, exploring and kicking butt. The building climbing fun of Assassin's Creed has been nearly perfected.
Right now, if I had any complaints after playing (I believe) approximately a third of the game in just a day or two is what you've heard anywhere else. Animations on the major character are excellent, some of the "lackeys" are a little boxy in their movement. A pop up here and there from the streaming no-load world. I suppose if you want to get picky, there is some repetition in the missions. You don't notice becuase you're having a blast.
If you have a PS3 and like open world games, this is for you. If you enjoy hero type games, this is definitly for you. Infamous doesn't really do anything really shockingly new, it just does everything so well you have plain and simple fun. If you have a PS3, you should play this game.
this is my favorite game, period... i pre-ordered and got the giga blades or whatever, i haven't tried them yet. And now: my review
this is the best game on PS3.
The game starts very simply with: PRESS START
when you do that, the screen goes straight to the game. a huge explosion that nearly levels several blocks of Empire City. all because of you... a delivery boy with a package, i'll let you figure out the rest as you play. but as the game goes on, very soon you meet zeke, your best bud, then your first mission... here's where the game gets good. it let's you decide whether to let the other hungry people get the food, or zap some of them and get all the food for you, Zeke, and Trish(your girl) but she stops talking to you if you make the wrong decision... choose wisely, there's a BIG decision later in the game, right when you get to the historic district. better think it through, and quick! it give you 45 seconds to scale the building! there are fifteen special missions... i made the mistake of doing one bad one, so i can't make it to the 15 good now:( here's a hint: if you want to be good, don't do any missions with red in them.
let's start with the visuals, i have already made it to the last level. the bosses, environments, and people are stunning. i see a lot of the same people, but that's to be expected in a game where everything ELSE is polished so well, when you complete a mission, it goes to this cool slow motion mode that looks awesome if you're grinding the rails. i've seen those draw-ins everyone hates maybe once, and i've almost completed the game... i'm at like 70%! Sucker Punch did great.
the gameplay is also VERY AWESOME, the climbing works alot like assassins Creed, but better! he almost always goes where you want him to... and it's fairly quick, even though it's about the speed a human could go... if everyone could survive a 500 foot fall:)
i ran out of space so i'll just say it now, i give this game an 11... oh, well, 10
