What a let down!

With so much love and respect for the Ultimate Hulk game released in 2005.

I was really looking forward to this game.
SEGA making it, the graphics and gameplay in the screenshots made it appear to be the same game.

It is NOT!

You can hardly jump as high as the 1st floor of a building starting off.

You escape the army, by Entering the Subway.. yes the subway, as the hulk...

After the horrible control and gameplay, the only saving grace was the Voice Acting and extra story not in the movie.

side note: a buddy who played the first game with me and also loved it, could not even handle 10mins or gameplay.

Very Good

Awesome game but minor annoyances

Okay, well first off the graphics are somewhat blocky but are also pretty good. The game is extremely fun to free roam through, but it tends to annoy you. First off, when jumping, you cant slow down your momentum while in the air and most of the times and you just go soaring by where you're wanting to go, and the Hulk's attacks are somewhat slow. For instance, you could be in the middle of bashing on an enemy and out of nowhere you'll find a different enemy coming up and pummeling you while you're in the middle of your combo. Lastly, the game tends to get slightly repetitive. All in all it's a really good game, it just has some slight flaws.

The last Hulk game had it pretty good, just not as open ended as this one, but the sandbox play is just about the only good thing in this one.

Graphics: Not too bad, pretty nice with a lot of destructible environments (even if throwing a car into a building makes it blow up and disappear sometimes instead of stick IN the building).

Controls: Not good, the hulk does everything slower. Why do designers feel that the hulk because he's big he has to do everything slower? And talk about unlockables? Why do I have to get half way through the game before the hulk can actually rip up a pole out of the ground and swing it more than once?

Overall: I'm being kind in only marking TWO of the many things wrong with this game... I wont even touch the story. If you want to just smash up things and actually have FUN, you'll HAVE to play at least halfway through the game before you can really enjoy this title. Its an ok rental, but a big disappointment for what could have been a solid game!
I'm trying not to compare but bottom line, web-swinging was just more fun than jumping around a city smashing things.
