Not quite as good as...

..Its predecessor ~Ultimate Destruction. Yes the graphics look better and it's set in an actual city. The Big problem with it of course is that it's not Spiderman. I played it only for about 5 hours, but I never left this location and I'm not playing a superhero who's whole local is set in a city. The Hulk is everywhere and travels from the desolate to oversized cities. The last game knew that and did that to the limits of the technology.

If I recall it also sold rather well for that!

Wow; am amazed at the previous neg. reviews as I've been really enjoying the 'primal' satisfaction that this game rewards you with; from bringing down entire buildings, smashing anything and everything, using buses as shields (and hammers) and climbing - oohhh the climbing - the perspective is perfect, the all-way movement and the ability to jump from one side of a bldg. to another is just plain-ol fun.

The only qualm I have so far are the graphics when you're at the top of a particularly high bldg. I was on top of the Empire State (feeling a little like Kong himself) and instead of a beautifully rendered picture of the city, was disappointed with simple gray shapes. My guess is that including this detail might have slowed down loading times (which are pleasantly speedy on my PS3). But considering all the positives, this is pretty minor.

The other quality I appreciate are the performances from the actual movie actors clearly not "phoning it in", it seems they were involved and committed to making this game a great experience. In addition, the artist who rendered Ed Norton, Tim Roth and William Hurt should be given a raise cause he really nailed them.

When one repeatedly gets his hopes up each time a super hero game is released and then is inevitably disappointed (Superman Returns being the best example of this; what a shame) it's nice to see that someone finally got it right w/ The Hulk!

The Incredible Hulk is the newest super heroe game to hit the market. It is also movie based. Don't cringe yet. Don't celebrate either. We've seen this before. Great graphics, infinate combos, free roaming. The special moves are hard to trigger. This can be frustrating when your in a pinch. The rest of the time it's the same old thing. Save this one for the kids. I really wanted to like this game it was just too repetitive. Rent don't buy
