Director Zhang Yimou outdoes himself with stunning visuals, and intense choreography and cinematography in House of Flying Daggers. At the decline of the Tang Dynasty, a secret organization called the House of Flying Daggers rises to oppose the Emperor. The House grows ever more powerful under a mysterious new leader, and two local deputy captains, Leo (Andy Lau) and Jin (Takeshi Kaneshiro), are ordered to capture the leader within ten days. Captain Jin pretends to be a lone warrior named Wind, and rescues Mei (Zhang Ziyi), the daughter of the old leader of the House, from prison. Jin earns Mei's trust, and his journey to escort her to the secret hideout of the House sets the backdrop for romance, secret plots, dazzling swordplay, and spectacular visuals.
