The story is a little "Japanese" if you know what I mean and kind of just gets in the way. The actual gameplay is mostly satisfying. I wish they had some special "hot shots" type of shots, but it was basically a straight up tennis game.
Unlike the Hot Shots Golf Series, I found this game to be more suitable for kids, rather than for "Everyone". I played the "Story Mode" of the game and found that it was pretty boring and far fetched. The whole "spreading the word for the love of tennis" deal was lame and more for little kids. The game play was "OK" when you can get the odd controls down, Multi-Player is pretty fun and I think this is the only saving grace of this game. The graphics look good which I think contributes to the long loading times. All in all, not a terribly bad game, just more suited for kids. It doesn't compare to the "Hot Shots" golf series in anyway. I'm glad I rented it first.
