At first, I thought this was yet another collection of boring Wii mini-games. But then I played the story mode, and I was hooked. I loved the ridiculous over-the-top plot and the cute, silly atmosphere. I loved the well-paced advancement in the jobs as you increase your skill, your experience, and your cash. There are 50 different jobs. 1/3 of them I found dull, 1/3 of them I found fun to play once in a while but not really enaging, and 1/3 of them I enjoyed playing over and over. Achieving Master rank in each job was perfectly paced so that I was getting tired of that job anyway right about when I mastered it.
Since the game is aimed at kids, it's not very challenging unless you set your own goals. You can try to save the world in the shortest amount of time possible, you can aim for getting all the memorial items and mastering every job (or every job that you care about), or you can just enjoy the games and the sense of advancement that the game provides.
I was disappointed that I lost my entire collection of items when I finished the game the first time through. I would have continued playing if I had kept all my items.
I'm very glad I rented this game despite the low average rating. I'm very picky (I return most of the games I rent after trying them out for less than an hour) and I played this one for many, many hours. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
