Wonderful story keeps you guessing the whole way win or lose the story goes on.

This game may start out a bit slow, but once it picks up it is easily the greatest storyline ever in a video game. It is like you are playing through an award winning movie. It grips you, makes you care about the characters, and doesn't let you down. I have played through several great story games, and to me Heavy Rain stands head and shoulders above them all. The gameplay is interactive and fun, and while it may not take as much skill to play through with its mechanics, it doesn't take anything away from the game, you honestly don't notice its easy until after you've played through. So in my opinion, Heavy Rain is one if the greatest story driven video games ever created.

Heavy Rain delivers an experience that no game has delivered to me. The controls of the game were completely different from the classic joystick movement. The fact that the scenes are triggered by pressing a sequence of buttons allowed me to relive the first time I ever held a control. Moving around in the environments is similar to an actual thought process, where a certain amount of steps must be taken in order to actually move. The availability of the inner psyche of the characters allows for an amazing sense of realism, as well as the characterization of each character, containing their own stories and their own personalities. No one is truly evil, and no one is truly innocent. The characterization and the controls also allow for a more emotional connection with the characters, which renders the gamer emotionally invested. The story of the game is also suspensful, playful, and serious. The darkness of the game is clear and the ambience never lets you forget the reason for the struggles within the game. This game is purely genious. The only issues with this game is the minor issues with actually moving in the spaces provided, control over the camera, and the complexity of some of the button sequences.

On of the fewest games I consider classic among God Of War, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil 2 in a long time!!

I'm going to be honest with you...I first was a little leery about this game and actually had some hesitation to add it to my game que. However, I went on and added it. Boy! am I glad i did...The graphics in this game is out of this world. Honestly, I think this game is setting a trend for future video games. I love how your pretty much control the character (almost gave me a feeling of playing the computer game THE SIMS). I heard that the developers are in the middle of creating another game much similar to Heavy Rain, believe its called "Beyond" or something of that nature. I hope the next game pushes the concept a little more. The only downside to this game is that you have to understand the controls with flawless accuracy. Other than that, beautifully developed game and very entertaining. Dear Heavy Rain, you won over a new fan!!!!

I downloaded the demo on PS3 and what I was allowed to play of it is simply awesome. The graphics are very detailed and the speack aspect is great as well, not your typical the mouth moves and the words come out. I would suggect this game to anyone who digs thillers!!!!

If only lolxbox could have the specs to have this amazing game.

This game kept me on my toes at all times. The story was brilliant, my favorite character was the one who ended up being the killer wow was i surprised i was left in awe. Beautiful would love to see a sequel or something else like this game, I really felt like i was part of the story I didn't want to let these characters go.

If you can get through the bugs, this is one of the best games that exist for the PS3. My girlfriend was so engrossed in the story that she wouldn't let me play unless she was in the room to watch.

That being said, there is a chance that you will spend a lot of time fighting with your PS3 just to get this game to work at all. First, it will require a 1125MB update in order to start. The update only adds PS-Move functionality so shouldn't be required, but it is. Sometimes the update will fail, corrupt your save game data from ALL of your PS3 games, and require you to download the update again.

In my case, I could never get the update to install at all. My solution was to disable internet access whenever I load the game so that it doesn't see the update. The glitches and bugs continue throughout the game but most players are able to complete the game just fine. Even as broken as this game is, it deserves it's high rating. This is a fun game.

So like I said, if you can stomach the glitches, it is worth moving to the top of your queue.

This was the first time i've ever played a game like this.
I thought Heavy Rain was going to be type of first shooter or something like La.Noir. I thought this was goin to be a okay mystery Game. But i was Wrong !
This Game is Freakin Awesome....had me on the edge the entire time. Love the story, love the Graphics, Love everything bout it. The actions you do in the game will Determined the Ending. I got the Game yesterday Afternoon n finished it around 2Am . It was so good that i never stopped playin since i got it. And the Character's OMG !! You will love playin as Ethan,Madison, and Norman. and sometimes Scott. But all 4 of them have History, and personal problems of there own. The Ending is a Super Shocker. Rent This Game. BUY IT. Its that Great im telling you. Hope they make a Sequel to this game. It Deserves a Sequel. Heavy Rain Really is Heavy.

All of the games played since migrating through this gem have always made me scream I WANT INTERACTIVE CINEMA!

Hey Quantic Dream next time make it more FLCL with SPACE ANIME SEXY GOOD TIME MUSIC POWER FUN in an AKIRA way and less my kids are gonna die and the story isnt fun to play through.

This game was great! At first you are are bored to death but there is a reason for it. Finish the game...Every choice you make can determine the ending....oh yeah and there is nudity. Say What! great story line, great characters, great endings. The only things I would say needed improvement are the PlayStation Move playability...so hard to finish the entire game with it, and the voice-over acting. Some of it was great but some of it was just terrible. Well worth the effort to rent or buy this game. you have to play it through once!

Don't listen to those who gave this game a low rating they just got a damaged disc (F.Y.I. just go to my Q and report a problem not give a game a low rating)and just impatient, of course the beginning is slow but it gets you a great chance to get used to the controls and it does show you the normal life of Ethan (one of the main characters)before he got F-ed up. It's truly a great game, in one day i got halfway done cause i was addicted to the story (I admit i got Ethan and Jayden killed once but thanks to the auto-save not activating i was saved).Don't even bother playing it if you're impatient cause i really don't want to see more low ratings,but if you are not impatient or you can fight thru the beginning without quitting then at least rent it.

Listen, to all those people out there that said this game sucked cause they didn't wanna do mundane tasks such as brushing your characters teeth and drinking some orange juice, YOU GUYS DO NOT APPRECIATE A GOOD GAME.

Sure the game starts off very slow, but the idea behind the whole prologue is to be able to make a conection with your character and feel like he is actually alive living a regular life doing regular things like you, the player.

Everyone must give this game a chance to unfold. The idea behind being able to make your own choices that will ultimately affect the outcome of the whole game is something that gamers have always been looking for, and now that it's here, many of these so called gamers turn their backs on it like it is a plague. This game actually gives you the opportunity to not have a happy ending if you don't want one.

After I got through the first hour or so of the game I couldn't put down my controller, and when I had to put it down, all I could think about was picking it back up to find out what happens next, or rather, what I wanted to happen next. This game succeeds at giving the player virtually complete control of the story rather than having them follow one direct path to the finish.

All in all, this game is probably one of the most enticing, impacting, and gripping games I have ever played and am so glad I did.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND PLAY THIS GAME I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU JUST GIVE IT A CHANCE!

P.S. Glitches in a game due do scratches on a disc is not a reason to give this game a rating of 1, for all those people who did just that, that's just stupid.

Heavy Rain is a very excellent game I beat the game but will not spoil it.. The game itself starts off some what corny but gets very interesting basically you have to choose your story and it can change.. It is kind of a depressing game in a good way you feel the characters emotions.. The graphics are simply amazing the theme is excellent the movement though is kind of a pain until you get used to it.. Be warned there is a scene of nudity and the game has language in it.. If you have ever played the game Indigo Prophecy for Playstation 2 then you will definitely LOVE this game it's worth a rental and a buy.. That is just my opinion Also watch the trailer(s) / gameplay footage

I doubt I've ever given a game a ten outta ten, and I feel that this game truly deserves it. I don't really like writing reviews I'll be totally honest but anyway here goes nothing. You basically embark on an adventure split between four characters. One of them named Ethan. Ethan suffers from blackouts and visions. He has two children. His oldest son is hit by a car and his other is kidnapped by the "Origami Killer". The Origami Killer puts you through several brutal "trials" to see just how far you will go to safe your son. The way this game is put together is simply perfect. It does start off a bit slow though, but it picks up extremely fast. I guarantee whoever plays this game won't be disappointed. But be very careful, ever simple decision made in the game can seriously alter the ENDING of it. Have fun. I sure did.

This is a very unique game and it's the type of game that can be played by anybody, even if you don't play video games at all. My mother never plays video games and admits that she's terrible at them but we have the PSMove and she actually got a kick out of this game. But as far as I'm concerned, I've never seen anything quite like this before.

It's so engrossing the way it grabs you from the beginning and you sometimes have a tough time putting down the game for a while. I rented this game at first and when I had played through it I ended up just purchasing it. Since it's a cinematic story based game, it's the type of game that I play every once in a while because you don't want to muddy up the story while you're playing it. No matter what though, the game has 5 different endings even if you do poorly while you're playing it and I doubt anybody will be disappointed.

This is the type of game that is really part of that next generation of games, the type of game where you're playing a movie and controlling humans in a movie, rather than just playing a game and shooting at people.

Well at first I knew that this game was not for me. It was slow and it was to much work. But then I put a little more time in to it and WOW this story is GREAT!!!
more and more I found myself unable to stop playing this game. The story changes just a little by each choice you make and the graphics well let's just say someone had to much time on there hands. I would love for a part 2 of this game.

Heavy Rain is truly one of a kind. It is the only game of its genre. The story it's self will have you want more and will never leave you at boredom. You would never want to put the game down. You play the game through 4 characters each with there own reasons and intentions in the game for finding the "Origami killer". Every decision you make will impact the future of your character and the other characters. The game plays as movie with you in the action and interacting with the movie. The game makes excellent use of Playstation 3 six-axis controller and the move. You will always be put into the action. The game itself is not really that hard but there is a difficultly option for an increase in difficultly or decrease in difficultly. The graphics and sound are realistic and almost makes you feel like your there. This game has a lot of replay value with a total of 4 possible endings each unique. I really recommend this game, it is one of the best games i have played in a long time.

this game has to be by far the most entertaining, exhilarating games of all time. You'll step into the shoes of a father, a private detective, a reporter, and an FBI agent. All of which are unique in their own way. The gameplay is absolutely gorgeous, and the game is much more interactive if you own the Playstation Move (optional). The first couple hours of gameplay were a little bit slow for players, (not me, I loved it from when I first picked it up) the ball starts rolling after that and then it's almost impossible to put it down. This game will have you playing it multiple times, just to find out all of the endings to this game (there's about 20 endings total, about 5 for each character). I would strongly suggest purchasing the game, even though you'll only get about 8 hours of gameplay, unless you play it through multiple times. The Origami killer is loose, what will you do to stop him?
