The game is absolutely perfect when it comes to gameplay, and I will admit it might be a bit difficult for western audiences but I enjoyed the extra challenge and experience of actually getting better as I played the game.
It takes an interesting twist on Rhythm gameplay by instead of having the notes all go to one location, their location changes in sync with the Rhythm, the spacing between the notes always matches the Rhythm perfectly, you can even adjust the timing to counter any problems you may be having. In addition to the unique change in gameplay, it offers extra modes such as making your own music videos and rooms where you gain affinity with the playable characters. And I'm quite aware this may not be innovative for eastern audiences, but the this is its first western release, so i'm grading it like it's the first game.
It even has a online system where one could download other's music videos and post your own.
A multitude of collectables that will have you playing the game hours on end, and the cost of each item will eventually force you to play harder difficulty to make money (DP: Diva points as they are called in this game) faster just adds to the game great design.
The only problem I have with the game is that when you playing a song and get low on health (or soul) the screen begins to blink which is incredibly distracting and I wish it was the subtitles were in English, not the Japanese in English form (You'll understand what I'm talking about if you buy the game)
