Well, another exciting year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry has arrived for not-so-young-anymore Harry Potter! And the "Harry Potter" series has finally entered next-generation gaming!
The best thing about this game is definitely the new control system for the Wii. Spell casting has been made exciting and five times more realistic thanks to the intuitive new Wii controls! Instead of pushing buttons, you rotate, thrust, and shake the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to cast spells both in and out of combat.
Now, the content and game play is up for review. Well, this game contains a huge model of Hogwarts for you to run around and explore! Well, trust me; you'll be doing A LOT of running around and exploring during the course of this game. The dueling system of this game is fun, but it doesn't get a lot of use! At times, finding someone to duel over and over can be more fun than running off to meet Luna or Dean or whoever to do ANOTHER favor that will lead you to do something else for someone else, well...
OK, the Wii is no 360 or PS3, but they tried to brush up on the graphics for this one. I think there is a lot of detail, and while the frame rate is not SUPER smooth, it's not that bad! I think these might be some of the best Wii game graphics.
So all in all, my final score
Controls: 10!!
Graphics: 7.8
Content: 4.7
Game play: 5.6
If you LOVE Harry Potter like me, this would be a great buy (or rent), but if you're looking for the heart-pounding action of neck and neck wizard duels every second, then this may not. Thanks for reading!
