The Harry Potter video games that I had played in the past had been pretty good so i thought i couldn't lose renting another one. I was wrong. I really only gave this game about an hour of my time...and that was just in desperate hope that it would get better. No such luck. This game was so far off of what Harry Potter fans want.

1.) Terrible, uncomfortable controls. Counter-intuitive
2.) Spells were lame
3.) Not creative at all. Just another run around and kill all the enemies on the screen before advancing to the next screen game. Besides the third dimension had nothing on any 64 bit system games.
4.) Zero time at the school (Hogwarts). Part of what makes video games made after movies fun is seeing the familiar scenary from the movie. Look at Scarface, Reservoir Dogs, The Godfather, etc etc. These games take advantage of the gamers desire to explore an environment that they are familiar with from the flic. I am not saying those were ALL good games, but they followed the rules to a certain extent. Gamers want to see the things that made the first Harry Potter game successful; The bedrooms, dining hall, classrooms, Quidditch Field...

Take my word for it. If you want to play Harry Potter games choose a different one. This one sucks!!!

i thought this game was pathetic. this was an awful game that deeply disappointed me. it was a rip off to buy it because all the cut scenes were hand drawn. you didn't get to explore hogwarts at free will. all you saw was Dumbledores pensive and the levels. i hated this game, the 5th one is going to be great though. but this was a cheap and worthless imitation of J.K. Rowling's book and movie. I think the designer team was rather lazy on this game, the other games were great but this one was utterly stupid. I was redy to take this game out of my ps2 and throw it at the wall. All of the spells you could cast were given to you and you could not choose which one you wanted to have equipped. You could not cast a spell on anything that you wanted to and could not interact with the other students. you could not explore hogwarts or anything you really want to, all you could explore was the levels related to the game. the spell aiming system was clunky and hermione and ron almost never help you. you could not summon your broom and fly around hogwarts and when you could fly you had one place to go and one way to get there. I think this game was extremely lazy and annoying. lets just hope the next one will be better.

this game was TERRIBLE!!!! I don't usually play games like this, but being open minded, I thought Id give it a shot. Never again. The graphics are ok, there is some good work with facial expressions, but other than that, nothing special. The movement is absolutely appalling and the characters have a tendency to walk into their own deaths. Game play is so boring its almost sleep inducing. If you like badly done games were you spend hours collecting things over and over again, this games for you.
