It's been five years since Master Chief went in Cryo and things faded off to black, and other then the remake of Halo Combat Evolved it's been five years since we stepped into the series trademark hero's boots. Since then we have seen several other titles most notably Reach since it brought the narrative back to the start. Now with Bungie out of the picture, newly formed 343i has been tasked with taking the series forward and let me tell you it's quite the ride. Visually this outperforms anything I've seen on the 360, especially no small feat since its an fps and therefore subject to extreme scrutinty. Finally new enemies join the fray besides covenant stalwarts, and the story is a personal journey for Chief and Cortana, and goes to show how far you'll go for those you care about. Multiplayer hits the high notes harkening back to the Halo 2/3 days, and mixes elements that should be familiar to COD players but gives it it's own unique spin. I've long been a fan of the series, and I gotta admit the thought of somebody besides Bungie being at the helm had me gasp in trepedation, but thankfully those fears were unfounded and Halo has made all the right improvements that should help it regain it's crown of the king of multiplayer on the Xbox.
