I have always been A COD fan, never having any love for the halo universe, however this game won me over in a lot of ways.
First, Visually this game has it going on, the cinematics are so good there are moments that you do not know if you are watching live action or not. The colors are vibrant and the animations are fluid.
Second, as expected the game sounds amazing. This soundtrack will let you know exactly how BA you are as the game goes on and while you are attempting to save the universe you will feel like you have an awesome DJ in your helmet. The voice actors hit their marks incredibly, that mixed with the emotions that they can show in scene immerse you in the experience.
Third, Gameplay is fun and action packed. This game has an awesome campaign, multiple different play styles for multiplayer, and a new mode called spartan ops that allows you and three other people to go on a mini adventure that follows the story of two spartan units, a true Red VS Blue. Standard TDM has also been spiced up with ordinance, a "killstreak" type system that rewards players for getting kills or assists. This game also has class creation that is fun and a great intensive to level up. The only ding I have is that you always level up and so the matchmaking is not as balanced as it has been in the past, however the unlock system is so much fun I cannot wait to hit my next level.
Fourth, some of the overpowered things that Halo has been known for (I.E. Needler, Pistol, etc.) have been balanced accordingly so you do not always feel outmatched against them no matter your weapon of choice.
All and all this is the game that Halo has been needing for a long time, it is a rich experience that can enthrall any FPS fans and give you more than enough reasons to keep coming back for more. Well worth a rent and a buy, I know I will be putting many hours into all of the modes of this game and will get more than 60 dollars of value here!
I've always been a fan since I got it back when Halo 2 came out. No joke, this game is gorgeous, addicting and has to be the best Halo. The campaign, I'll admit, is a bit short for it really feel like a true campaign but it makes up for it in depth and beauty. I love how Master Chief is allowed more dialect and more interaction with Cortana where Chief unfortunately has to watch her deteriorate mentally. This brings out Chief's humane side, a side we haven't seen where he's powerless to help her. Not only is the story is so engaging but the visuals are breathtaking. The view in a lot of the chapters are awe inspiring that I wish I had a better tv to appreciate to it's full potential. Though, it did have a lot of glare. A good example to use would be like the recent Star Trek movie. Not only is the story great but they keep it going with unlockables and Spartan Ops episodes. You learn more about the Forerunner and their war with the ancient more advanced humans and the flood. Not with historically writing in terminals like Halo 3 but with awesome videos you unlock in Halo Waypoint. Spartan Ops shows what happens six months after Master Chief saves the day (Spoiler Alert :P). It's fun and it's a great way to rack up points to unlock more armor. My only gripe is the lag. If you're paired with a player with cheap internet you're gonna have a bad time(Stupid reddit). Matchmaking is so much better. It's great that they adopted CoD's running controls but what is more fantastic is that now players can join your team in game. I hated how people would quit on me and I was left alone 1 vs 4 or 6 or whatever that is now a thing of the past. Sooo many unlockables in this game. You'll feel like a kid in a candy store when you are customizing your spartan and profile.
Lag in Spartan Ops (depending on who you're matched with)
Warthogs and Ghosts are easy to flip when driving.
absolutely love this game.....feel like the matchmaking is lacking in how many playlists there are but I feel like they'll update it to add more in the future, but besides that im pretty impressed with 343 industries.
